Jesse bear what will you wear lapbook

We also supplement it with a lap book found here , and use other stories or nonfiction books, craft ideas, activities, etc. So basically, every morning Micah and I say the Bible verse that corresponds to the book we are studying, as suggested in the Before Five In A Row guide. Most days we read a story from our Jesus storybook Bible, but sometimes we read straight from Bible and other times we do another Bible study activity. Then, we normally read a few poems or rhymes from our favorite books or library books.

We have some in our home library, but I like to look for in our local library for poetry or rhymes that relate to our current book study.

I just know these are things that I want to do every day, or at least four days of the week. So, it works for us to do them all in the morning. However, if they are wiggly and distracted, I keep it short and only go over the essentials. But if they are super into it, I will add in rhyming books and different games.

Again, I keep it short and take my ques from them. Words cannot express how proud I am of him! I think now is the time to start memorizing the catechism! Our study letter for Jesse Bear was B- for Bear!

We usually read poetry and maybe a rhyming book or two every morning. For Jesse Bear, we focused on the rhymes in the story and adapted them to our own routine to come up with our own rhymes. We also read poetry on bears, and the Homeschool Share lapbook came with a rhyming activity we did one day. But mostly the poetry and rhyming portion of our morning time was usually very silly, making up our own rhymes. During our morning time, I would break up some of our readings and memory work with little games.

In Jesse Bear, he plays Peekaboo with his blue blanket. In addition to these daily studies, we looped a few subjects. Looping just means doing one or two activities of a subject on your list a day, going down the list of subjects, and repeating the list until the week is over. So, if you have a list of four subjects, you can have several activities for each subject, and as you repeat the subject, you just choose different activities. We started the school year with the letter A and focused on Adam and Eve.

Most of our Bible lessons fit into the various topics we covered i. Eating healthy, getting dressed, learning life skills, and feeling loved. We print a set of vocabulary words for each book we row. I laminated the cards and assorted them with various toys and figures and placed them in our story box. We continued to work on the words all throughout the unit.

Now that Parker knew his letters and their sounds, we wanted to focus on learning how to properly form both the uppercase and lowercase letters of the alphabet. He used our Alphabet tracer cards to practice writing the letters. I created a letter A box with our Alphabet Cards and other letter A printables. He worked on many of the worksheets in the letter of the Bible Letter of the Week Curriculum pack.

Since he continued to show great interest in reading and spelling his CVC words, we continued to work on those as well. Jesse Bear ate a healthy lunch with his Mom. We talked about the difference between healthy foods and treats. We spent quite a bit of time reading about fruits and vegetables and added several fun fruit and vegetable activities to learning lane. You can find most of them on my Jesse Bear Pinterest board. I purchased this really amazing food group printable from Montessori Print Shop.

I presented it at the breakfast table with My Food Pyramid. We wrapped them up, took them outside and went for a walk. After walking a while, we found a nice shady, grassy spot to sit and eat our snack. The kids love making their own home-made pizza, which allows us to choose our own healthy ingredients. We often use veggies from the garden too! They even named their pizza. When Parkie went down for his nap, Haley and Jordan made the pizza recipe at the end of the book.

The kids sorted various foods that were either good or bad for your teeth. Afterwards, they worked on a worksheet all about healthy and treat foods. Thanks for sharing your ideas! Definitely grab this one for your shelves! I started doing the same thing and now we have an entire shelf in our living room with all the books we will never let go of!

We totally did! I even found several more Jesse Bear books at a thrift store for less than a quarter a piece! I have to be honest. He liked this for about eight letters, but then grew weary of it. We finished […]. This is an example of what I have in mind. It was fun listening to him recall much of the story before we ever even read the first page. You can see all the activities we did with Jesse Bear when Sam was younger here.
